About the venue

The Nikolaikirche (St. Nicholas Church) is one of Leipzig's oldest and most significant churches, dating back to the 12th century. Built in a mix of Romanesque, Gothic, and Neoclassical styles, it is historically renowned as the starting point of the peaceful Monday demonstrations in 1989 that led to the fall of the Berlin Wall. Today it hosts regular church services, organ concerts, and cultural events.
