Oper Frankfurt is one of Germany's leading opera houses, located in the Theaterplatz in the heart of Frankfurt am Main. The current neo-baroque building, inaugurated in 1880, was largely destroyed in World War II and meticulously reconstructed, reopening in 1951. It hosts a full season of opera and ballet productions and has repeatedly been named "Opera House of the Year" by the international trade magazine Opernwelt.
