Paula Modersohn-Becker Museum

Bremen, Germany

About the venue

The Paula Modersohn-Becker Museum in Bremen's Böttcherstraße is the world's first museum dedicated to a female artist, opened in 1927. It holds the largest collection of works by Paula Modersohn-Becker, a pioneering Expressionist painter who was part of the Worpswede artists' colony. The building itself, designed by Bernhard Hoetger, is a striking example of Art Deco architecture.
