Schloss Schönhausen is a baroque palace in Berlin's Pankow district, built in the late 17th century and expanded under Frederick the Great, who used it as a summer residence for his wife Elisabeth Christine. After 1945 it served as the official guesthouse of the GDR, hosting state visits by figures such as Nikita Khrushchev and Fidel Castro. Today the restored palace and its English-style park are open to visitors and host cultural events.
