About the venue

Theater Marl is the municipal theatre of Marl in the Ruhr region, hosting drama, musicals, dance and concerts. The building, opened in 1982, is a striking example of late modernist architecture and forms part of the civic centre alongside the town hall. It also serves as the venue for the annual Grimme-Preis ceremony, Germany's most prestigious television award.
