The Monument to the Battle of the Nations (Völkerschlachtdenkmal) in Leipzig is one of the largest monuments in Europe, standing 91 metres tall. Built between 1898 and 1913, it commemorates the 1813 Battle of Leipzig, in which Napoleon's forces were defeated by a coalition of European armies. The monument hosts open-air events, commemorative ceremonies, and cultural gatherings, and offers panoramic views of Leipzig from its viewing platform.
