The ZisterzienserMuseum Kloster Walkenried is housed in the ruins of a Cistercian monastery founded in 1127 in the southern Harz region. The medieval church nave, largely preserved as an open ruin, forms a striking backdrop for the permanent exhibition on Cistercian life and culture. The museum also hosts concerts, readings and seasonal events throughout the year.
