Carmen

About

Carmen is an opera by French composer Georges Bizet, first performed in Paris in 1875. Based on a novella by Prosper Mérimée, it tells the story of the passionate gypsy Carmen and the soldier Don José. The opera is celebrated for its memorable melodies, including the Habanera and the Toreador Song, and is one of the most frequently performed works in the operatic repertoire.
