Deep Purple is a British hard rock band formed in 1968, widely regarded as one of the pioneers of heavy metal and hard rock. They are known for iconic tracks such as "Smoke on the Water", "Highway Star", and "Child in Time". Their 1972 album Machine Head remains one of the most influential records in rock history.
