Georges Bizet

About

Georges Bizet (1838–1875) was a French composer of the Romantic era. He is best known for his opera Carmen (1875), one of the most frequently performed operas in the world repertoire. His other notable works include the orchestral suites L'Arlésienne. He died shortly after Carmen's premiere, never witnessing its eventual triumph.
