Ijon Tichy is a fictional character from the science-fiction works of Polish author Stanisław Lem. He is a space traveller and astronaut whose adventures are filled with absurd humour and philosophical satire. His stories appear chiefly in the collection The Star Diaries (Dzienniki gwiazdowe), first published in 1957.
