Jan Garbarek is a Norwegian saxophonist known for his distinctive lyrical tone on soprano and tenor saxophone. A long-standing artist on ECM Records, he blends jazz with European folk traditions and ambient textures. He gained wide international recognition through his collaboration with the Hilliard Ensemble on the album Officium.
