Julian Tuwim (1894–1953) was a Polish poet and writer, one of the most prominent figures of Polish interwar literature. He co-founded the Skamander poetry group and was celebrated for his virtuosic use of language. He also translated theatrical and operetta libretti, including the Polish version of the libretto for Johann Strauss II's Die Fledermaus.
