The Astronaut - Project Hail Mary
Der Astronaut presents the "Project Hail Mary" project at Artis International.
Ryan Thomas Gosling (born November 12, 1980, in London, Ontario) is a Canadian actor whose career spans both acclaimed independent films and major studio blockbusters. He earned Academy Award nominations for Half Nelson (2006) and Barbie (2023), won a Golden Globe for La La Land (2016), and his films have collectively grossed over $1.9 billion worldwide. Beyond acting, he is also a producer and occasional musician, most visibly with his live Oscars performance of "I'm Just Ken" in 2024.
Gosling signed on to star in the next film from 'Everything Everywhere All at Once' directors Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert (the Daniels), with Universal setting a November 19, 2027 release date.
Project Hail Mary opened to $80 million domestically and $141 million globally in its opening weekend, exceeding box office expectations.
Principal photography on Star Wars: Starfighter began in the UK on August 28, 2025, with the full cast - including Matt Smith, Mia Goth, Amy Adams, and Flynn Gray - officially announced.
Gosling appeared at San Diego Comic-Con 2025 to promote Project Hail Mary, with the film's first trailer having already drawn 400 million global views in its first week - a record for an original (non-sequel/remake) film.
Gosling performed 'I'm Just Ken' live at the 96th Academy Awards, earning a standing ovation; he was also nominated that night for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Ken in Barbie.
