Thematic Walk: Podgórna - Bakeries, Temples, Prussian Walls and Remarkable Local Stories — Contemporary Art Centre "Znaki Czasu" in Toruń, Toruń
Description was written before the event

Was the Toruń church really originally a railway station? Where does the boundary between Chełmińskie Przedmieście and Mokrem run? How many bakeries once operated on Podgórna Street? What role did the German Empress play in building St. George's Church? Was there a cemetery on Podgórna Street? What is happening to the buildings made from the Prussian wall that still stand here - and what can these walls tell us? And what on earth was a Hamburg police officer doing in 1903 in a pigsty behind the house at Podgórna 70?

The walk will be led by Szymon Spandowski and Anna Zglińska. Meeting point: parking lot at the corner of Podgórna and Czarlińskiego streets. Duration: approximately 3 hours. Limited to 50 participants.
