BUNKIER
Ludwik Solski Theatre in Tarnów, Poland
A chamber drama blending clownery, slapstick, cabaret, and musical theatre. This satirical work draws audiences into a world of pathological ideologies and reveals how history can repeat itself.
Rhea Leman's play is set in a titular bunker where we encounter Joseph Goebbels decades after World War II - or rather, today. Trapped in a time capsule, he continues to relive the war; aware of what followed its end, he struggles to suppress the facts and confront his defeat - not only that of the Third Reich, but his own. He is visited by Leni Riefenstahl, and together they face their dark past, dancing a kind of dance of death.
