Koszalin BassFest! Orkiestra Ludwika Sarskiego + Confusion Project

ORKIESTRA LUDWIKA SARSKIEGO

A collective founded by multi-instrumentalists and composers Damian Szymczak and Piotr Tomala. Their music blends early jazz, ragtime, tango, swing and klezmer. OLS is known for intimate concerts featuring original compositions performed live to silent films - works by Buster Keaton, Charlie Chaplin, Roman Polanski and others.

At the Koszalin concert, the duo will perform as guests reinforced by a double bass. In 2025, on the occasion of their fifth anniversary, the Orchestra received the Minister of Culture and National Heritage Award. The album "THE KID" - a tribute to Chaplin's work inspired by the film "The Kid" - was released in 2021 by DUX Recording Producers under the patronage of Polish Radio Two and TVP Kultura.

The ensemble has collaborated with the National Film Archive - Audiovisual Institute, the Institute of National Remembrance, the Adam Mickiewicz Institute and the Polish Institute in Moscow, creating musical accompaniment for performances ("Resistance. Perseverance. Solidarity", "Rise to Live", "Polish Parade") and productions of the Television Theatre and Polish Radio Theatre.

CONFUSION PROJECT

A trio founded in Gdańsk in 2013: Michał Ciesielski (piano), Piotr Gierszewski (bass guitar), Adam Golicki (drums). The band's music moves across the boundaries of jazz, prog-jazz and jazz fusion - with clear influences from progressive rock, drum&bass, classical and film music.

They have hundreds of concerts to their credit in Poland and abroad. They have toured China three times as part of the Jazz Po Polsku initiative (2019, 2023, 2024), performing over 40 concerts - including at Blue Note Beijing, Blue Note Shanghai, Jazz At The Lincoln Center Shanghai and the Tsinghua World Music Festival in Beijing. In 2017 they performed 16 concerts in Kazakhstan and Russia, including appearances at philharmonics in Karaganda and Ulan-Ude and at the Baikal Waves festival in Irkutsk. Since 2023 they have been collaborating with an Italian jazz vocalist.
