Ludzie Gór | Bartek Ziemski | Lhotse and Mt. Everest — Kino Rialto w Poznaniu, Poznań

A meeting with Bartek Ziemski - a ski mountaineer and Himalayan climber who in May 2026 achieved a historic feat: within a single week, he skied down from two eight-thousanders - on May 12 from Lhotse (8516 m a.s.l.) and on May 19 from Mount Everest (8849 m a.s.l.). In total, he has skied down from 9 eight-thousanders, all without supplemental oxygen and without personal support from high-altitude porters.

The conversation is hosted by Kinga Wajran. They will discuss Bartek's journey from his skiing beginnings through ski mountaineering to the world of eight-thousanders - and in particular the behind-the-scenes story of this year's expedition to Lhotse and Everest: the preparations, acclimatization, life at base camp, and details of the descents. The meeting will be enriched with films and photographs from the expeditions. At the end, Bartek will answer questions from the audience.

Bartek Ziemski is from Bielsko-Biała and has been skiing since he was three years old. He is a member of the SAKWA High Mountain Club and the Polish Mountain Alpinism program of the Polish Alpine Association. He gained experience in Austria and during mountain expeditions around the world, and during several expeditions collaborated with Oswaldo Rodrigo Pereira as part of the MAD Ski project. In his day job, he works in IT and is a co-founder of the Jump Camp ski club.
