PERFORMANCE after F. Dostoevsky
Teatr im. Stanisława Ignacego Witkiewicza, Zakopane, Poland
PERFORMANCE is a theatrical piece about a man who - though alive - thinks and behaves as if he were unborn, as if he were dead. He perceives the world around him as a reality of evil, hypocrisy, and lies. He believes neither in "salvation" nor in his own words - because "a thought once spoken is a lie".
The performance poses a question: can anything save us from ourselves - and can the very act of creation, performance itself, become a form of redemption, a purification.
The scenography - original painterly arrangements - was created by Prof. Dr. Zbigniew Bajek from the Kraków Academy of Fine Arts.
The performance is intended for viewers aged 16 and above. The performance contains cigarette smoke.
