22nd Summer Philharmonia AUKSO - Seven Last Words of Christ on the Cross

Opening concert of the 22nd Summer Philharmonia AUKSO - Pieniny 2026.

Sonore LAB will take the stage - a new Silesian chamber ensemble composed of musicians from the AUKSO orchestra: Gabriela Kubarska and Joanna Zagajewska (violin), Ewa Sidor (viola), Krzysztof Krawczyk (cello) and Dominik Polak (double bass). The ensemble will perform Joseph Haydn's "Seven Last Words of Christ on the Cross" - a work composed in 1786 on commission from the Santa Cueva church in Cádiz, which the composer himself described as "an oratorio without text".

Selected passages from Scripture, which form the foundation of the work, will be recited by Rafal Zawierucha - a theatre and film actor, known among other roles for his appearances in the films Gods, City 44, and for his role as Roman Polanski in Quentin Tarantino's "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood".
