Description was written before the event
Gdańsk's Shakespeare Theatre hosts the concert "Wajda - Music" on 22 September 2026 (Tuesday) with Adam Sztaba and his orchestra. The project pairs selected scenes from Andrzej Wajda's films with live music, drawing on works by major composers from Penderecki to Komeda. This is one of two Polish dates on Sztaba's tour. The concert guides audiences through Polish history via cinematic imagery: from the Enlightenment through war and occupation to the postwar period. Emotions and individual fates speak to entire generations, while the orchestra's music amplifies the power of each scene.
