34.WJP | Adam Wasiela | Letters to the Lonely
Forum Synagoga, Ostrów Wielkopolski, Poland
"Letters to the Lonely" is a musical monodrama about closeness - both present and lost. The protagonist opens to the audience a world of words that perhaps should never have been spoken: letters to important people, the forgotten, the lost, and also to those who lacked the courage to say "you matter to me".
This is not merely a story about loneliness. The protagonist gradually comes to realize that solitude does not always mean being alone - sometimes the loneliest person is one sitting next to another if they can no longer speak to each other. The past meets the present here, memories intertwine with music, and alongside questions of love, friendship, and transience, there is also room for a smile and hope.
