Pan Tu Wroci, or Casting for a Dad

A Czech lyrical comedy set on abandoned railway tracks in the middle of the night. She is determined, somewhat lost, dreaming of something better. He is drunk, tired of life, standing closer to the end than the beginning. They meet by chance.

She decides to have a child with him - partly out of defiance toward the world, partly against all reason. He never planned any future. Yet, driven by curiosity or a glimmer of hope, he enters into this unusual game.

The performance guides them through their clashes, misunderstandings, and small triumphs. The dialogue entertains, moments of silence move the heart, and the characters - carrying all their baggage of fears and experience - ring authentically true. From this improbable meeting, closeness slowly emerges, one that needs no fireworks.
