"The Old Woman Climbs Out" - RELATIONS XI

A competition performance of RELATIONS XI Intergenerational Theatre Meetings.

The Amateur Dramatic Theatre named after Józef Żmuda from Stalowa Wola presents "The Old Woman Climbs Out" by Tadeusz Różewicz, adapted and directed by Aneta Adamska-Szukała and Maciej Szukała. The set design was created by Maciej Szukała, Grzegorz Prokop, and Michał Warchoł; costumes by Ewa Kusińska. The cast includes: Leszek Baran, Małgorzata Grudzień, Katarzyna Kłosowicz, Ewa Krukowska, Laura Kulczyk, Maria Łojek, Elżbieta Pikus, Anna Płecha, Maciej Szukała, Maria Trzeciak, Stanisław Tunia, Lila Wojciak, and Katarzyna Wołoszyn.

Różewicz uses the symbol of a monstrous garbage dump to show how the modern world is destroyed by consumerism and superficiality. The world of 2026 resembles a gigantic landfill of history and culture - filled with chaos, dystopia, and tragicomic paradoxes of everyday life. The performance does not impose a single interpretation: the presented world can be read as the product of the heroine's tormented psyche, but also as a reckoning with the collapse of culture.

19 September 2026 (Saturday), 12:00, auditorium of the Municipal House of Culture in Stalowa Wola. Duration: 50 minutes.
