"Humankind" is a theatre of process and matter, in which the history of Homo sapiens is compressed to the scale of one calendar year - humans appear on Earth only in the last minute before midnight. This drastic compression of time causes evolutionary mechanisms, ancient myths, and contemporary social schemas to coexist simultaneously - like waves from a primordial ocean reaching us from all sides. The performance examines human entanglement in top-down instructions, conformism, and the repeating matrix of perpetrator and victim roles that we - as a species - enter without reflection.
Before the audience's eyes, the actresses sculpt the space, weaving a complex net from white ribbons and elastic bands that becomes a visual wedge of time and a record of human memory. This creates a non-linear narrative about the inevitability of returning archetypes and the compulsion to repeat imposed scenarios. What will happen at 23:59:59?
