Omasta is a five-piece ensemble from Kraków whose name comes from local dialect and means "fat added to a dish for flavor" — a metaphor for dense, juicy music built on heavy drums and deep bass, with keyboards, trumpet, saxophone, and flute. The group blends jazz tradition with street sounds and hip-hop culture. Their official debut took place in February 2024 during a tribute to J Dilla at Paul's Boutique. Since then, Omasta has performed at the London Jazz Festival, OFF Festival, Gent Jazz Festival, and in clubs including The Jazz Cafe, Ronnie Scott's (London), and AB (Brussels).
