Conversations in Times of Chaos - Magda Szpecht

On 19 September at 16:00 at the Jaracza Theatre in Łódź, the next meeting of the "Conversations in Times of Chaos" series will take place. The guest will be Magda Szpecht - a director, theatre artist and cyberactivist who has been actively engaged in fighting propaganda, fake news and disinformation since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, combining theatre, new technologies, journalism and activist action.

The conversation will focus on information warfare: how to recognize disinformation, what emotions propaganda exploits and what cyberactivism looks like in practice - including from the perspective of Magda Szpecht's experience as Cyber Elfka. The reference point will be "Brain Wash" - a performance by Szpecht staged at the Jaracza Theatre, which examines how manipulation affects our minds and emotions.

Questions will also be raised about the role of art: can theatre be a tool for recognizing the mechanisms of propaganda and where is the boundary between creation, activism and political action.

"Conversations in Times of Chaos" is a series of meetings with experts from various fields dedicated to new languages of storytelling about contemporary life.
