Dancing Families: Connections – Dancing Conversations with the Body | Workshops for Families with Children Aged 5–7

Sun, 31 May 2026 · 10:00

Projektornia GAK - Widowiskowa, Gdańsk Brzeźno

20 zł from osoby

Dance workshops for families with children aged 5–7. Taking place on 31 May at 10:00 at Projektornia GAK, ul. Dworska 29a, Gdańsk Brzeźno. Admission is 20 PLN per person – each participant must have their own ticket.

During the sessions, participants will explore together how much joy dance and movement bring. Movement becomes a form of play that allows closeness with others and develops awareness of what happens around us and in our bodies. The workshops also include listening to breath and heartbeat – signals that the body sends when it is content.

Led by: Dominika Szala-Wentland – contemporary dance instructor, dancer and improviser, who also works with dance theory and history. For over 15 years she has led classes for children, youth and adults in contemporary dance, movement improvisation and dance history.

The project was funded by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage as part of the Art Spaces – Dance programme, implemented by the National Institute of Music and Dance. The programme operators in Gdańsk for 2026–2028 are the Gdańsk Archipelago of Culture and the Institute of Urban Culture. The operator of the Dancing Families project is the Performat Foundation; project curator: Hanna Bylka-Kanecka.
