Marek Torzewski - Concert
Metalowiec Cinema in Kraśnik, Poland
Marek Torzewski is a Polish opera singer with classical training whose artistic activity has extended far beyond traditional opera stages for decades — across Poland, Europe, and beyond. As the first Polish artist, he gave a recital at NATO Headquarters in Mons, inaugurated the International Chopin Year in Belgium (where he has lived for many years), and was the first to perform the Polish national anthem at Śląski Stadium in Chorzów before a Poland–Ukraine match. His original song "Do przodu, Polsko" (Forward, Poland) was recognized as the national team's anthem.
Torzewski's career began in 1984 when he won first prize at the International Vocal Competition named after Jan Kiepura in Krynica. Since then, he has earned recognition from the Polish Ministry of Culture and the Little Prince Association, which awarded him, his wife — actress and manager Barbara Romanowicz-Torzewska — and their daughter Agata the honorary title of Friend of the Little Prince for the best representation of the Polish Artistic Family in the world.
With classical training, Torzewski is not limited to serious music. He also sings Italian works and popular songs, consistently bringing so-called high music to a broader audience.
