World Choral Championship Finalists Concert

The World Choral Championship is an annual competition featuring winners of the Grand Prix awards from festivals in Tokyo, Taipei, Rimini, and Kraków. This year's finalists are: The Philippine Meistersingers, The University of Kansas Chamber Choir, Seisen High School Choir, and Halo Choir.
The Philippine Meistersingers under the direction of Ramona M. Lijauco Jr. perform a repertoire ranging from sacred music to contemporary works. The ensemble has performed throughout Asia, North America, and Great Britain, winning numerous awards including the Ani ng Dangal award, a proclamation from the Philippine Congress, and two victories in the national NAMCYA competition. On the international stage, they won the championship in the Gospel and Spiritual category at the World Choir Games in 2006, received the US Congressional Merit in 1999 (along with the establishment of the official "AUP Ambassadors Day" in Fresno, California), and at the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod in 2011 received the Luciano Pavarotti Trophy and the title "Choir of the World".
The University of Kansas Chamber Choir is an ensemble of over 30 members composed of music students and students from other disciplines at the University of Kansas. Since autumn 2021, the conductor has been Dr. Eduardo García-Novelli. The choir has toured throughout the United States, Central America, Europe, Brazil, and Australia, and performed at the ACDA National Convention in 2001. In July 2023, it won first place in the mixed choir and open program categories at the International Choral Competition in Preveza (Greece), as well as special awards for best program and best conductor. In June 2025, during the International Choral Festival Cracovia Cantans in Kraków, it won gold medals in the sacred music and mixed choir categories and the Grand Prix award.
