Literary Club | Dark academia | Guest: Izabela Górska

Mysterious universities, elite circles, obsession with knowledge and art, and beneath the elegant surface - secrets, rivalry, and dangerous fascinations. At the first Literary Club meeting at Empik after the summer break, the main theme will be dark academia.

The evening's guest is Izabela Górska (Książkowa Baba) - we'll discuss with her what makes dark campuses, closed communities, and characters consumed by intellectual obsessions so captivating. The hosts, as always, are Jagoda Gawliczek (journalist and head of the creative team at Going.) and Maciej Marcisz (writer and director of promotion at Wydawnicza Grupa Foksal).

Program: introduction to the main theme, a short conversation with the guest about what and how she reads, shared silent reading - 1 hour 15 minutes, discussion of the books read, book surprises. Coffee and snacks are included in the ticket price. You can bring a book with you or buy one just before the meeting at Empik. Seats are not numbered - it's worth arriving 15 minutes early.

Upcoming Literary Club meetings:
12.10 - Spooky Reading - Łukasz Chmara (Talkincloud)
25.11 - Cozy Reading - Maciej Makselon
9.12 - Christmas Reading - Baba od polskiego

Empik's Literary Club meets once a month at Klub Empik on Marszałkowska 99 in Warsaw. The program always includes shared reading, discussion, quizzes, contests, and surprises.
