Milk in a Tube - On Childhood in the 1990s
Sala Duża, Krotoszyn
The 1990s – the first decade of freedom, a time of rapid change, great challenges, and transformation. An era of miracle workers, door-to-door salesmen, and television game shows. A time of chances – one in a million. It was then that Rafał, Miłosz, Malwina, Marek, and Iza were growing up and discovering their individuality.
"Milk in a Tube" captures the greatest curiosities of Poland's transformational turning point: on one hand, fascination with the West; on the other, helplessness in the face of new possibilities. It is a personal story set against hope, uncertainty, and controversial parenting methods. The actors engage in dialogue with figures of their parents, who – unlike Generation Y – associated adulthood with steady work, starting a family, and the need for stability.
Through childhood artifacts, the performance balances between exhibition and documentary, taking audiences on a journey through time and confronting them with what shaped them.
