"The Forgotten Devil" Workers' Theatre im. Bolesław Barbacki in Nowy Sącz
Municipal Cultural Centre in Nowy Sącz, Nowy Sącz
The play "The Forgotten Devil" by Jan Drda, directed by Jarosław Szwec, tells the story of the village of Długie Kabaty, where for years an astonishing peace has prevailed — the inhabitants live honestly, and not a single soul from there goes to hell.
The reason for this "scandal" turns out to be simple: the devil responsible for this region, the elderly Trepifajksel, abandoned his duties long ago and fell into idleness. The matter comes to light when the infernal powers lose a lawsuit over the soul of the local priest. The cleverest emissary of Beelzebub is sent to Długie Kabaty to find the missing devil and correct years of neglect.
However, the fate of this story unfolds in an unexpected direction — goodness, honesty, and human wisdom successfully thwart even the most cunningly devised devilish schemes.
