Pinocchio

The Łomża production of "Pinocchio" is a musical family show set in the convention of theatre within theatre, drawing from the traditions of commedia dell'arte, circus, and classical moral fairy tales. The performance guides the audience through successive, contrasting worlds — from the warm workshop of Geppetto, through a fairground Puppet Theatre, the Field of Miracles and the Land of Toys, to a dark circus — building the journey of maturation of the titular hero. The production combines acting with puppet form, and the motif of the "wooden boy" learning through mistake and choice weaves together humour, song, and theatrical convention with reflection on education, freedom, and love. The show has been presented throughout the country and abroad.
