16. Lublin Jazz Festiwal: Forever Ahead: BŁOTO (PL)

The music of Wrocław-based band Błoto grows from hip-hop foundations with a loose reference to 90s sound. It is dirty and uncompromising music, whose strength lies in drums and bass. In a sense, also radical — it captures the atmosphere of the era in which it was created: unfavourable climate change, stark social divisions, hate speech, rising nationalism, police brutality, nepotism, political arrangements, and the dismantling of the rule of law.
