Tourists

A theatrical production inspired by the photographs of Martin Parr, whose works are displayed in the Tate Modern in London, Centre Pompidou in Paris, and the Museum of Modern Art in New York. The starting point is the album "Small World," in which Parr portrays the paradoxes of mass tourism: the pursuit of the perfect shot, the uniformity of places, mountains of garbage, and residents held hostage by the season.

Konrad Imiela's libretto brings these observations to the stage, with musical styles changing as rapidly as holiday photos on Instagram — from Broadway-style songs, through hip-hop and ethnic music, to pop hits. The compositions and songs were written by Grzegorz Rdzak.
