JAZZ PO POLSKU: Helicopets — Klub Jassmine, Warsaw

As part of the JAZZ PO POLSKU "Warsaw Live Sessions" project, original concerts by leading figures of the Polish jazz scene and international guests will take place.

Helicopets is a quartet operating at the intersection of experimental jazz and improvised music. The band is led by guitarist Adam Baran, with the lineup completed by: bass clarinetist Magdalena Sowul, drummer Józef Biegański, and bassist Roman Chraniuk.

Helicopets' sound draws inspiration from classical jazz avant-garde, electronics, trip-hop, and ambient music. The quartet combines spacious, atmospheric ballads with noise and electronic improvisations, moving freely between precise structure and controlled chaos.

In 2024, the quartet made its debut at the Jazz Juniors festival in Kraków, winning five special awards from European partners of the event. These accolades led to a European concert tour in 2025. The group performed at venues including the NOSPR hall in Katowice, JazzFestBrno, Opus Jazz Club in Budapest, the Jazz in the Vineyard festival in Croatia, and completed an artist residency in Aalborg as part of an award from Jazz Danmark.

In March 2026, the quartet's debut album titled "Helicopeter" will be released. In addition to Adam Baran and Magdalena Sowul, the album will feature a Norwegian rhythm section: drummer Sigurd Steinkopf, bassist Jone Kuven, and electronic music producer Paweł Rychert.
