Drawing inspiration from internet culture, fashion, video games, and the unbridled energy of punk icons like Sex Pistols and Fugazi, as well as DIY scene hero Glaive, h3nce defines his sound as "hyper-rock". This dramatic atmosphere allows the 19-year-old to explore how our constantly changing world shapes the perception of identity, creating the effect of an intimate diary immersed in a rush of adrenaline.

H3nce's commitment to creative boldness has made him one of the most fascinating new voices of his generation, unafraid to break genre boundaries and rebuild them on his own terms. "My goal is to be the person who makes alternative rock cool again for teenagers," he explains, citing Nirvana and Soundgarden as other key inspirations.

Born as Henri Schamann, h3nce learned the rules early—which made breaking them much easier. Before releasing his debut EP WRITE IT ON YOUR FLAGS in late 2025, the producer and multi-instrumentalist spent over a decade discovering sound. As a child he studied classical music, but ultimately rejected rigid instruction, creating demos in his bedroom and learning production as a means of self-discovery.

Music quickly became h3nce's way of navigating complex states of mind: finding his place in the world, falling in love and heartbreak, watching friends break promises and spiral into addiction; every second of "WRITE IT ON YOUR FLAGS" is filled with meaning. In just the past year alone, he has accumulated over 16 million streams while building a devoted fanbase.
