Feierabendhaus is a historic cultural center on the BASF plant grounds, built in the 1950s and originally designed as a recreational and cultural space for employees. Today it hosts concerts and artistic events. An evening with one of contemporary jazz's most accomplished bassists promises deep, exploratory soundscapes and compositions that form the heart of his artistic vision.

About: Avishai Cohen

One of contemporary jazz's most distinctive voices, Israeli bassist and composer Avishai Cohen draws on Sephardic tradition, Latin grooves, and classical music to shape a sound that crosses genre lines with ease. His trio and quintet formats have earned him the Miles Davis Award (Montreal, 2023) and France's Chevalier of the Order of Arts and Letters (2024), with a new album, Eternal Child, out in 2026.

The BASF Feierabendhaus is a historic cultural venue on the BASF company campus in Ludwigshafen am Rhein, built in the 1950s. Originally conceived as a leisure and cultural centre for BASF employees, it hosts concerts, theatre performances, and other cultural events. The grand hall features excellent acoustics and seats several hundred guests, making it one of the most notable event venues in the Rhine-Neckar region.
