About: Falco

Born in working-class Vienna, Johann Hölzel reinvented himself as Falco and became the only German-speaking artist to score a vocal number-one hit in the United States - a record that still stands. His catalogue of synth-driven, rap-inflected pop from the 1980s, from "Der Kommissar" to "Jeanny", shaped European pop for a generation.
