Gdańsk Jazz Nights: Bukowski Kisiel Wybrańczyk FABULI and Magda Kuraś Quintet

Bukowski Kisiel Wybrańczyk FABULI is a Gdańsk-based ensemble focused on creating diverse sonic landscapes rooted in free improvisation. The musicians, active on the Polish and European scene, present sounds characteristic of their individual musical languages, and the combination of two harmonic instruments with percussion opens new avenues of expression. The project constantly evolves - the musicians regularly meet, improvise, and work on varied concepts, sometimes drawing on composed pieces before moving away from them again.

Magda Kuraś Quintet was formed in 2022 from the need to experience music together as a ritual. The musicians share a passion for ethnic sounds, folklore, and trance, and a desire to develop a shared language in which sound - rather than form - carries emotion. Their debut album Tryptyk Biłgorajski is often described as a shamanic, multilayered sonic ritual - a celebration of musical roots in which folklore is filtered through the personal experiences of contemporary improvisers.

At the concert, the ensemble will present premiere excerpts from new material drawing on pre-Christian, pagan sources - ancient rituals, elements, and incantations. Lineup: Magda Kuraś (vocals), Maciej Świniarski (vocals), Ziemowit Klimek (double bass, vocals), Kuba Krzanowski (percussion, vocals), Tomasz Chyła (violin, vocals).

Tickets: 40 PLN in advance, 50 PLN on the day of the concert.
