MARTA BEJMA | NIECH SIĘ NIESIE — Miejsko-Gminny Ośrodek Kultury w Janowcu Wielkopolskim, Janowiec Wielkopolski

Marta Bejma is a Polish vocalist, composer, lyricist, and hurdy-gurdy player connected to folk, ethnic, and world music traditions. From Nakło nad Notecią, she lives and works in Toruń and graduated from the Felix Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz. Her work draws on the roots of folk music, blending white singing technique, vocal cries, and operatic voice production. A distinctive element of her artistic identity is her mastery of the hurdy-gurdy - an ancient ethnic instrument that has become her signature.

She gained wider recognition through her participation in the TVN talent show "Mam Talent!", reaching the semi-finals. She is a two-time recipient of the Toruń Mayor's Award in the "Toruń Stars" competition, winner of the Special SWAP Award at the nationwide "Cała Jaskrawość" festival, and laureate of the "Personality of the Year 2025" award in the Culture category. As Poland's first hurdy-gurdy player to perform at the major folk fashion showcase "Polki Folki" in Zakopane, she has established herself as a distinctive voice in contemporary folk music. She actively collaborates with the Maria Znamierowska-Prufferowa Ethnographic Museum in Toruń.

Since 2024, she has been performing her original project "Niech się niesie", which combines traditional songs, her own compositions, and stories inspired by folk culture and Slavic symbolism. An album with the same title was released that year. Beyond concerts, she leads workshops on white singing and events dedicated to traditional musical culture.
