The European Union Baroque Orchestra's final concert takes place on Friday, 11 September 2026 at 19:00 in the Stiftskirche in Bad Gandersheim. Under the direction of Judith Steenbrink, the orchestra will perform works by Telemann inspired by Polish musical style, including Symphonie in D, Danse d'Polonie, Concerto Polonois, and Partie Polonois. This is one of two German dates for the orchestra on this tour. The Stiftskirche is a Romanesque monastery church dating to the 9th century and one of the oldest surviving churches in Lower Saxony, formerly belonging to the imperial abbey of Gandersheim. The Stiftskirche in Bad Gandersheim is a Romanesque collegiate church dating back to the 9th century, one of the oldest and best-preserved sacred buildings in Lower Saxony. It was the church of the imperial abbey of Gandersheim, closely tied to the canoness Hrotsvit, the earliest known German-language poet. Today it serves as a venue for the annual Gandersheim Cathedral Festival (Gandersheimer Domfestspiele), staging theatre and music performances in its historic setting.
