Carolyn Sampson (soprano) moves with equal ease between opera and concert stages, achieving success both in Britain and worldwide. In the 2023/24 season, her hundredth solo album was released - a testament to the artist's versatility and the breadth of her repertoire over twenty-five years of career. That same year she received the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the King's New Year Honours List, was elected an Honorary Member of the Royal Academy of Music, and won the Gramophone Artist of the Year award.
On the opera stage she has appeared at English National Opera, Glyndebourne Festival Opera, Berliner Staatsoper, Scottish Opera and Opéra de Paris. Her debut at Berliner Staatsoper in the role of Créuse in Charpentier's Médée (directed by Peter Sellars, conducted by Simon Rattle) was a particularly significant event in her career. She regularly performs at BBC Proms and collaborates with orchestras.
