The Poznań Piano Trio has been active since 2003. Laura Kluwak-Sobolewska is a professor at the I. J. Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań, Anna Ziółkowska is a concertmaster, and Monika Baranowska is a soloist in the cello section of the Poznań Philharmonic Orchestra.
The trio performs on stages throughout Poland and abroad, premieres contemporary music, and regularly appears at festivals including the Poznań Musical Spring and Sofia Musical Weeks. They have performed at concerts organized by the Polish Institute and the Chopin Society in Rome and Vatican City, as well as in the Expressivo Meisterkonzerte series in Berlin and Frankfurt an der Oder. Their performances also include appearances at the National Philharmonic in Warsaw, the Kaliningrad Philharmonic, and the Koszalin Philharmonic.
In 2011, the ensemble released its debut album presenting a panorama of Polish twentieth-century piano trios. In 2016, the Poznań Piano Trio recorded a monographic album of chamber music by Krzysztof Meyer for NAXOS titled Instrumental Music, which received positive reviews in publications including Ritmo, Neue Zeitschrift für Musik, Gapplegate Classical-Modern Music Review, and klassik.com. The ensemble is also engaged in publishing and educational activities: it is currently preparing a new performance edition of Romuald Twardowski's Trio for Violin, Cello, and Piano (1987), and next year will see the first printed edition of Andrzej Koszewski's Trio in F-sharp minor, which the ensemble discovered.
