Romain Leleu Sextet
Romain Leleu and his sextet have been performing for fifteen years, regularly appearing at festivals and concert venues worldwide. To mark their anniversary, the ensemble founded their own record label - RL Records.
The group combines trumpet with a string quintet made up of musicians from leading French orchestras. Their repertoire includes transcriptions from various periods - from Baroque music through film scores to contemporary works.
The sextet is a regular guest at festivals such as the International Festival in Colmar, "La Folle Journée" in Nantes, festivals in Auvers-sur-Oise, Saint-Denis, and "Classique au Vert" in Paris. They have also performed in the halls of Folies Bergère, Salle Gaveau, and MC2 in Grenoble. They have given over 700 concerts in a dozen countries, including Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, the United Kingdom, Algeria, Italy, Bulgaria, Russia, Lebanon, Turkey, and Mexico.
Their debut album Sur la Route (2013) was enthusiastically received by critics and audiences alike. The second album - Inspirations (2016, Aparté) - made it onto the "Discothèque idéale" list of the French radio station FIP. Subsequent albums, Faces à Faces (harmonia mundi)
