UTOPIA: Concert and Meeting - Robert Piotrowicz — Cultural Centre in Lublin, Lublin
Description was written before the event

After nearly a decade, Robert Piotrowicz returns to Lublin. On July 10, he will perform at the Culture Centre as part of the events inaugurating the "UTOPIA" project - an evening that combines a concert with a meeting with the artist.

Robert Piotrowicz is a composer, improviser, sound artist, and curator, recognized as one of the leading figures in Polish experimental music. He works with electronic and acoustic instruments, creates installations, sound works, and interdisciplinary projects. Co-founder of the Sanatorium Dźwięku festival in Sokołowsko and a regular performer worldwide. He builds saturated, detail-rich forms based on modular synthesis.

The artist comes to Lublin following the premiere of his album "Wrong Filament" - a project based on the idea of a fictional musical tradition, in which he constructs an alternative history of collective music-making, evoking the dreamlike and ritual sound structures of Eastern Europe.

The conversation with Piotrowicz will be a direct continuation of the meeting with Professor Andrzej Leder, which opens the "UTOPIA" project. There, questions arise about the theoretical possibility of recovering agency and autonomy - here we test how similar ideas work in practice, in the everyday functioning of an independent artistic circuit. The experimental music scene - independent creators, small publishers, informal collectives - builds an alternative cultural circuit based on exchange and shared values, making Piotrowicz's creative and curatorial work an important reference point for the entire project.
