The Chairs
Kino Odra w Brzegu Dolnym, Brzeg Dolny, Poland
"Closeness is when your hands are cold and he warms a pebble and places it warm in your hands." "Closeness is when you can not only be yourself, but when you are happy for who you are in someone's life."
"Closeness is when you stand with tears in your eyes and open hands, into which you can place the greatest secret, a tired face and a promise of endurance."
"Closeness is an unspoken word - love".
The performance "The Chairs" is a conversation about closeness built on authentic stories and experiences gathered from anonymous people of various ages and backgrounds. The creators ask about the state of contemporary ways of forming relationships and address an issue that much of society struggles with - loneliness.
On stage, Adam Kuza and Sara Kozłowska meet, becoming bearers of others' stories about relationships, bonds, encounters and farewells - while finding themselves in these stories and weaving in their own experiences. In this process, they seek a balance between what is light and amusing and what is difficult and moving.
