Cologne-based drummer and composer Hendrik Eichler brings together an international quintet from the European jazz scene under the name Manic Anomaly: Angelika Niescier (saxophone), Kirke Karja (piano/synth), Teis Semey (guitar), and Louise van den Heuvel (bass).

The music takes its cues from science-fiction worlds in literature, film, and TV - from Star Trek and Isaac Asimov's Foundation saga to Predator and Tron. These references shape a sonic vision of unknown spaces, new orders, and encounters with the incomprehensible.

The five voices move between precise control and eruptive outbursts, between hovering stillness and pulsating rhythms - a musical system that constantly recalibrates itself.
