STARA-NOWA PASTORAŁKA
Miejskie Centrum Kultury w Płońsku, Poland
The creative struggle of the creator of God's world, shepherds journeying to Bethlehem through Wieliczka and Skalmierz, Herod attempting to bribe death with positions in his administration... These are folk visions of sacred history drawn from old Polish nativity scenes. Often dismissed as naive or even primitive, they prove surprisingly apt - bearing witness to the thinking of our ancestors: their piety and frivolity, inner fire and common sense, gravity and wit. The sacred and the profane mingle here with a grace rarely encountered - as only in nativity plays.
The Polish Classics Theatre presents a performance that weaves together carols, laughter, and reflection on the state of our community.
"For the carols we thank you, health and happiness we wish you in this New Year!"
Reduced-price tickets are available to students, seniors over 60, people with disabilities, and holders of the Large Family Card.
